how do we feel about the gladiator???

Seeing that it's sandals week, we had to save a slot for the gladiator sandals! I don't know how I feel about these. I've seen some on other people's feet and they look cool....but I don't think they'll look that cool on me. Maybe it's because my first attempt at the gladiator sandal (in order to be different) were the Jeffrey Campbell ones, seen above. Well I tried those on and I looked a hot mess. And the the salesman had the audacity to say I look good in them!! He was obviously trying to get the sale.

The first time I saw these sandals was in June 2007. Yup! My dear friend A.H. bought a pair of handmade sandals right before our trip to Jamaica. They were a cute pair...and I just looked at them as just sandals...and I liked them. Then months later I saw gladiator written everywhere!!! And just the other day before we went for our mani pedis, I thought to myself...A.H. was rocking those gladiators way before they were even known as gladiators!! Now that my friends...is a trendsetter!

Maybe I will try the gladiator one day. I'm not sure if they're for me. Maybe I don't like them because they're a hot item right now. If I got one the same time as A.H. I may have had a different outlook now. We'll see. I love the Twelfth pair because of it's simplicity and they could last passed the gladiator trend. And I am kinda feeling Palladium Key Largo sandals. I don't have any orange sandals those these would be a nice touch to my dark denim jeans:) Woot woot! Enjoy!!!

    Hmmm...I don't like gladiators so much because I don't think they are very pretty. My feet are the least flattering thing about me (totally banged up from years of sports) so I like to wear shoes that are a little daintier. But Alia, you could pull off anything :)

    Check it...its not completely flat so it adds an edge of sophistication and panache..plus lifts the booty UP!!
