I was supposed to post this last Friday...but with the madness at my job, plus my travel bugging...I was unable to! Womp! Most of the sandals I posted last week were pretty much ridiculously priced for the amount of fabric used on them. I'm patiently waiting for some to go on sale! Sadly, I'm pretty much convinced that having sandals in NY is pointless, because on most days, it's still in the 50's! Ughhh! I'm thoroughly depressed! Read the rest of this article »

Every season...I go visit one of my fav. sites...Dolce Vita! I have bought quite a few shoes from here, and each and every time that box is delivered to my door, I fall in love as I slide them on my feet. They're uber comfy (even the heels)...made well and definitely worth every penny! Their sales are always great too! Today for sandals week I thought I'd show some of my favorite sandals from their 2010 line! Dolce Vita doesn't go all out with their designs...you will find all of these to be incredibly simple. But the designs always seem to keep me intrigued...never following the trends, this line always creates something that pretty much anyone can wear and anyone can appreciate. And even with their simplicity, they all have a tiny detail that makes them stand out from the crowd! I love everything about the ones above (and you know I had to find some teal and orange in there...hehe)! Whether it's the rope detail, ribbed leather, knots, or woven leather...they all live up to their name pretty well!! Ahhh The Good Life!!!!! Enjoy!

I'm so excited that the "blues" seem to be a color for the season. I'm seeing a lot more teal/turquoise/aqua things this spring and you know that makes me a happy-go-lucky person! However, I will say that NY weather hasn't been living up to it's potential...whipping all us New Yorkers with 45-55 degree weather in mid May....talk about trumping the happiness brought on by sandals week. I can't even get to wear them...I'm back in boots! Ugh!
Anyway....I am loving these lovely teal sandals, as they all have very interesting details!! I love the DVF pair that has the simple cutouts that create a lovely texture. And the other two are Twelfth by Cynthia Vincent...and they are calling my name. I love love love the mixture of materials on the Daphne...the hardware along with the different leathers....and to top it off, a splash of teal at the back. Could that scream Alia anymore??? And the Coco looks like they took a piece of a wicker chair...painted it and made it into this beauty! They would definitely brighten up this golden brown complexion (which is going to fade if the temp doesn't warm up...ugh)!
Wherever you are in the world...whether you're with me in the north or somewhere in the south which makes me jealous....enjoy!

I love love love sandals that have embellishments! Each and every time I see the new things that they decide to add to the little pieces of fabric...I get super excited! It's like falling in love over and over each year! What I love about them is they can dress up your feet with ease! You can wear them with absolutely anything...even sweat pants and a tee...and that's what makes every single one of them worth the price!!! Enjoy!

We all remember the days of wearing jellies as kids. I don't think I had a pair...I think my rockstar mom kept me away from the "trends" and I was rocking moccasins and colorful keds...don't mean to brag! haha! But I do remember the jellies that were very gladiator-ish....and then they came back in the 90's during my high school years. You know you remember the ones with the heels...that had glitter in them. Can you say unattractive? I won't lie though...I did want a pair but never got one. Well, jellies are back!!! And they're not here to make you look a hot mess...or to make you hit yourself in the head years from now, for actually putting them on in the year 2010. They are actually all pretty cool and worthy of touching everyone's feet! Read the rest of this article »

So I think it's about that time again, when one can put away the boots and bring out nothing but the open toes. In the past year, I think all my female friends have expressed how much they are over heels. I'm probably the only one that braves wearing them on a regular basis. I used to wear them a lot more...especially in college when someone made me aware that I walk like my father, and I just wasn't amused. So I wore heels almost everywhere...no joke! Anyway, I'm pretty pumped because the weather has finally decided to warm up, and I'm really hoping and praying that we will have a good long summer this year! And for 2010 I will dedicate sandals week to only flats...just for my girls! I've already seen many that have caught my eye....Actually, I saw many from December when my eyes shouldn't have been wondering to anything that allowed toes to peep out! Hehe...poor me! Enjoy!

Seeing that it's sandals week, we had to save a slot for the gladiator sandals! I don't know how I feel about these. I've seen some on other people's feet and they look cool....but I don't think they'll look that cool on me. Maybe it's because my first attempt at the gladiator sandal (in order to be different) were the Jeffrey Campbell ones, seen above. Well I tried those on and I looked a hot mess. And the the salesman had the audacity to say I look good in them!! He was obviously trying to get the sale.

Don't you see the above sandals with some nice skinnies?? I mean they would work well with just about anything, but I totally see them with a lovely pair of skinny fit jeans! Each of them would add that extra oomph you need to whatever pair of jeans you are wearing. You know those times you just want something simple enough that won't overpower what you're wearing, but rather compliment it??? That's what these are for! Simple compliments!
The basket weave Fendi sandals has to be my fav. The moment I saw them, I wanted them. Obviously I have expensive taste at times, but the neutral colors mixed together make these a winner! You'll have many options to put this great pair with! The Solstice sandal...no question about it...I'm getting these (pity the brown is now sold out...grrrr). These sandals remind me of when I was a child, and had to wear sandals like these...sometimes alone, sometimes with frilly socks! Adorable! They also can go with anything. If only they came in teal, so that they could replace my teal sandals that got ruined by rain last year:( sigh!
Dolce Vita usually has lovely shoes. But they outdid themselves with these. I'm not a bronze color fan, but the Rose sandal is simply elegant! The bronze metal circles make these sandals pop. If it was just leather straps...it wouldn't have made it to this blog! And we all know why I love these Steve Madden sandals....I don't even have to say it! As for the Chie Mihara sandals....that shade of green is lovely. Not too bright not too dark...just perfect! And they'll compliment any skintone which makes them a great buy for anyone!!! Enjoy!

I saw these shoes by accident while searching for a new pair of teal shoes! I do this search at times because in 2001/2002 I owned a pair of turquoise heels! And sadly they broke in about 2004 and I have never been able to find a pair quite so lovely (I barely wore them too because of my love for them)!!:( Read the rest of this article »
