wanda bag

I’m sure you are all wondering why my bag line is called [wanda]•ful, so here is the story behind the name of my new collection. The mother of one of my dearest friends (Saintey), passed away last year. It was totally heartbreaking to see my friend go through so much at such a young age. It wasn’t a situation like a breakup, or the loss of a job, because nothing I could say, would be able to help heal her heart. Wanda was a beautiful mother, and a great friend to many, not to mention her talent as an interior designer. She was…wonderful! It was really hard to see her go in such a short amount of time. So it only felt right to dedicate this collection to her.

After Auntie Wanda’s passing, I realized how much we should all appreciate everything placed in each of our lives. So, I decided to name each bag after all the mothers who have had a great impact in my life, and who have helped shape me into the person I am today. They are all…once again wonderful!

Above is the Wanda bag which I gave to Saintey, as only she deserved to own it! Her bag was green and silver. Green was Auntie Wanda’s favorite color, and silver represented her legacy that will always shine through Saintey.

That said, each bag has a different story, and I will explain each so that all of you know how much I put my heart into everything I create. That’s probably why I want to keep all my bags for myself!:)

Alia, your website is beautiful - but even more beautiful is what you wrote about Auntie Wanda and how she inspired you to create this collection. You are so very talented and I wish you health, happiness and success in all that you touch. You are very special - and I am glad we had the time to work together even if for a short period. I will visit here again - and treat myself to an aliamichele bag!!!
      Best wishes, CZ

      Lia,
I don’t even know where to begin to thank you for this. As I saw the e-mail announcing the launch of your new line, I began to cry, and the tears came flowing even more when I went to the website and now to your blog. I love you more than words and I couldn’t ask for a better friend. I am so blessed to have you as one of my nearest and dearest. No one has ever done anything like this for me/mummy before so I am overwhelmed with humility. Thank you Lia. I love you so much. Mummy would be so happy and proud. It is no coincidence that your line launched just after mummy’s birthday on the 15th, at least I don’t believe so as I no longer believe in coincidence. Especially in an instance like this. You are such a blessing and a talent and I’m so proud of you and proud to have you as my friend, sister and twin! I love you!
