Ann
16/09/2008Many people don't know that I was probably one of the most lost people in high school. I didn't know what I wanted to do, and everyday I heard the phrase "Alia has the potential...but just won't do her work". One person who was very helpful in this time of my life was Miss Walters (Ann). She was my English extra lessons teacher and she had a huge impact on my life. I mean, she brought me to tears one time when I wrote probably the worst essay ever. She didn't take crap, and yeah she was tough...but she helped teach me the value of working hard. I have a few teachers/professors like this, and she was one of the first. Ann isn't a mom, but she is a woman I admire immensely. Sometimes I get these emails from her after a bag line has been released and she lets me know how proud she is. In a time in my life when I felt like I would be happy being just an average person, she pushed me to do better. She believed in me in a time that I never did. I always saw it as her being really hard on me, but now I see it as her pushing me because she knew what I could be. And that has made her one of the most wonderful people in my life. She is giving, caring, strong, tough and absolutely amazing...and I wouldn't be where I am today with her!
Her bag is silver and blue because she's calm, patient, sharp, and just great!
